FAQs
Mid State Door & Window Co
What is the difference between a single hung and a double hung window?
With a single-hung window, the top sash stays fixed while only the bottom sash opens. A double-hung window allows both the top and bottom sashes to move independently. Double-hung windows provide better ventilation flexibility and tend to be simpler to clean.Do you use subcontractors or in-house installers?
We work exclusively with experienced in-house installers. This approach allows us to maintain consistent quality, professionalism, and accountability from start to finish on every installation project. How long do windows last?
The lifespan of windows depends largely on their material—vinyl windows generally last 20–30 years, wood windows about 15–30 years, and fiberglass windows can last anywhere from 30–50 years. However, proper installation is equally critical to the window material itself and significantly impacts overall performance and longevity.
